The Rose Street Quartet and Rose Street Ensemble frequently perform to audiences in Edinburgh and across Scotland to high acclaim. Our wide repertoire covers chamber music, string orchestra repertoire, and full orchestral works
Our annual appearances at Strathmiglo Hall in Fife and the Dower House in Edinburgh consistently sell out, our programmes of songbook classics, jazz and classical favourites proving endlessly popular. We also perform music from the quartet canon (Haydn, Borodin, Shostakovich etc.), and augment to perform larger chamber works, most recently Schubert’s Trout, Brahms first Sextet, and Shostakovich and Elgar Piano Quintets.
Members of the Rose Street Quartet work frequently in a session/studio environment. Pete recently established Pumpkinfield, a recording studio at his home near Perth.
With their varied background in music and the arts, Liz and Pete also provide a number of independent services – please get in touch with us to discuss.
Liz has a vast experience in concert management, her exoerience coming from work with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and for the Edinburgh International Festival, along with myriad other groups, not least our very own Rose Street Ensemble, whose fascinating programmes have been causing a stir in the Edinburgh music scene for nearly a decade.
If the Rose Street Quartet or Rose Street Ensemble is not free for your event, or you would prefer an unbranded group, Liz Ford’s prolific experience in the field of fixing means that she can put any combination of musicians together for you, from soloists to orchestras.
Pete is a professional arranger, orchestrator and music setter – his arrangements make the RSQ repertoire the unique and varied array that it is. He has recently completed work on setting score and parts for Scottish Ballet’s new commission of Alice, and has worked for the likes of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Jonathan Mills, director of the Edinburgh International Festival.
Pete is head engineer at Pumpkinfield recording studio at his home near Perth, and is frequently to be found producing recordings for a wide variety of artists, for whom he also arranges parts and brings in session players.
